Our Breakout Spaces
Refectory
Our Refectory is open during the day, serving food, and hot and cold drinks including a selection of Coffees, Teas and Hot Chocolate.
There is a small dedicated seating area for our Refectory in the Atrium on the ground floor.
E-Hub
Head over to the E-Hub to find our student support team. They’re on hand to assist with your studies, provide careers guidance and help teach you valuable study skills.
Alternatively, make use of this quiet study space, equipped with computer facilities, laptop loaning, and library resources to complete independent study.
Students' Union Lounge
Pop into the new Students’ Union Lounge during the day to meet the team and hear about what they’ve got going on.
Catch up with friends and relax during your breaktimes, or head down and take part in one of the Students’ Union’s scheduled clubs or societies.
Elwick Hair and Beauty Salon
The Elwick Hair and Beauty Salon is the high-street-quality commercial salon at EKC Ashford College. Run by staff and students, it offers a range of hair, beauty and nail treatments under the supervision of industry experts.
It is the perfect place to unwind and get that little bit of time just for yourself – without breaking the bank.
Appointments are available throughout term time, but at certain points in the academic year appointments may be unavailable.
Students can get a variety of treatments at reduced rates, as well as the chance to be models for our Hair and Beauty students during assessments.
Curriculum Spaces

Elwick Road Studios
Our recording studio has been designed and built to the highest specification in consultation with industry professionals.
The facilities include live room, booth and control room, and equipment, including a 40-channel TL Audio Valve Technology Console, Neumann U87 condenser microphones and a wide range of rack effects units.
Engineering Hub
Our Engineering Hub at EKC Ashford College is part of our new Phase 2 Development.
This space will allow students to learn cutting edge skills in Manufacturing, Engineering and a wide range of areas in the industry.
Art Studios
The Art and Photography Studios, and Dark Room offer an exciting space for you to develop your creativity.
Whether you’re passionate about painting, drawing, photography, or ceramics, our studios provide the perfect environment to explore and express your vision.
Immersive Classroom
Connect with workshops, other students and industry professionals from across the world thanks to our Immersive Classroom.
From joining guest speakers to taking part in interactive workshops and demonstrations through VR (Virtual Reality), this space can become anything that you need.
Plumbing and Electrical Workshops
Gain the skills that employers are looking for in a wide range of areas as you become confident using the machinery in the new Engineering Workshops.
Industry-standard equipment includes CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, Kuka robots, Turning centres, Ladle machines and CAD (Computer Aided Design) suite.
